Brenda Ray Scott

Brenda Ray Scott, CFRE brings savvy and expertise along with execution to strategically building and diversifying fundraising in her roles as Development leadership roles, her work as Principal with Adept Diva Consulting, and in volunteer leadership roles. She is thrilled to serve as Recording Secretary and Development Committee Chair of the Portland Youth Philharmonic’s Board of Directors. She also serves on the Facilities Task Force. Serving PYP in this way is the fulfillment of a long-held aspiration inspired by the years she played viola in the PYP Prep Orchestra under Mr. A’s watchful eye and Ernestine Oringdulph’s support and encouragement. Brenda’s first violin and viola teacher was Assistant Conductor James “Jimmy” Eoff. She is known to occasionally pick up her viola.

Professionally, Brenda is a seasoned organization leader and fundraising professional, consultant, speaker, and a board member, Brenda has raised millions of dollars through consultant, staff, and volunteer roles. She currently serves as Chair of the Board Development Committee and an Ex-Officio member of the Portland Rose Festival Foundation’s Executive Committee Board of Directors. She resides with her husband Dana in the Sellwood neighborhood in SE Portland. Brenda and Dana are proud parents of their favorite daughter who studies at Portland State University.
