Children’s Concerts in Our 102nd Season
February 18, 2026 - Conservatory Orchestra Children’s Concerts
April 14, 2026 - Philharmonic Children’s Concerts
A cherished annual Portland tradition since 1937, Portland Youth Philharmonic’s Children’s Concerts are free educational performances. Our Philharmonic (PYP) and Conservatory (PYCO) orchestras perform four concerts each year for over 10,000 school children in grades 3-8 at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in downtown Portland.

What to Expect
These 40-minute concerts introduce children to classical music in a concert hall setting, but in a more informal and accessible way than our evening concerts. They also include introductions to each instrument of the orchestra and explanations of how music creates different textures and effects.
A teacher’s booklet with information about the program and suggested lessons plans will be sent in advance of each concert.
Are you a teacher at a low-income school? We have bus subsidies to help cover the cost of transportation!
