Woodwind & Brass Workshops
Portland Youth Philharmonic offers FREE Woodwind and Brass Workshops taught by music faculty from Portland State University’s Music Department.
These workshops are open not only to members of the PYP organization but also young musician who is interested in refining their skills on a woodwind/brass instrument.
We ask that participants have at least 1 year of experience on their instrument; participation in our ensembles is not required but we hope that you consider joining one of our ensembles!

What you need to know

These workshops are designed for young musicians - typically middle school and early high school students - who have at least 1 year of experience on their woodwind/brass instrument and are interested in receiving specialized feedback from our own music director, David Hattner, and PSU music faculty.
We offer instruction on the following instruments:

Workshops take place on specific Wednesdays (Season 103 dates TBA) from 6:30-8:15 PM and we invite all participants to join us for the remainder of our Wind Ensemble rehearsal (8:15-9:00 PM).
