PYWE and PYCO return to Bauman Auditorium with a program that moves from ceremonial grandeur to bold orchestral dance.
PYWE opens with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Procession of the Nobles, a brilliant musical procession filled with color and pageantry, followed by Randall Standridge’s uplifting Affirmation.
PYCO continues with Gluck’s Iphigénie en Aulide Overture and Four Pieces, Girolamo Frescobaldi’s early music reimagined for modern orchestra by composer Giorgio Federico Ghedini. The concert concludes with two of Brahms’ spirited Hungarian Dances, bringing rhythmic energy and momentum to the afternoon.
