Oregon Repertory Singers and Portland Youth Philharmonic Camerata come together for Creo, Hyo-Won Woo’s sweeping contemporary retelling of the Creation story from Genesis. Across 11 movements, the work traces the emergence of the universe, earth, living creatures, and humanity, culminating in a vision of wholeness and rest.
Drawing on Korean musical traditions and the full expressive power of chorus and orchestra, Creo explores the beginnings of the convictions that define us—our strength, our identity, and our shared humanity. Woo will be in residence for the performances, offering audiences a rare opportunity to encounter her music in direct conversation with its creator.
