‘Summer Soloists’ Recap: Yulbee Shin

14-year-old PYP violinist Yulbee Shin shared her summer on Twitter and Instagram as part of our ‘Summer Soloists’ social media series.

‘Summer Soloists’ followed 8 Portland Youth Philharmonic musicians as they spent a summer playing, practicing, and preparing excerpts for Season 93.

9/30/16 - PYP is such an amazing experience and for new members of the PYP family, Don’t stress about your seat. I know it’s an honest struggle to keep up at first but if you stay calm and work through the music slowly, you are sure to become a successful musician!

7/15/16 - Yulbee has played the violin in PYP for 4 years

7/29/16 - Yulbee started PYP when she was 9 years old

7/29/16 - Yulbee has played violin since she was 7 years old

8/1/16 - PYP at the Oregon Symphony’s Waterfront Concert

8/5/16 - Yulbee is excited to FINALLY be able to play in the same orchestra as her older sister this coming year!
