Portland Youth Philharmonic Brings Astonishing Classical Music to Corvallis & Roseburg
It’s not just a youth orchestra, it’s PYP! Portland’s locally-grown ensemble since 1924 will kick off its 94th concert season with a tour down the Willamette Valley to Corvallis and Roseburg the last weekend of October. First stop is Roseburg on Saturday, October 28, 2017 with a 7:00 PM performance in Umpqua Community College’s Jacoby Auditorium, followed by a 3:00 PM performance in Oregon State University’s LaSells Stewart Center on Sunday, October 29, 2017.
“I am very pleased that PYP is returning to Corvallis and adding a visit to Roseburg,” Hattner shares. “Dr. Marlan Carlson, OSU professor and Music Director of the Corvallis-OSU Symphony orchestra, has been kind enough to invite us for our third annual appearance. OSU probably has more PYP alumni in its student body than any other university.”
Tickets to the performance in Roseburg are $10 for adults, and can be purchased at the door. Children and students of any age can attend the performance for free. The OSU performance in Corvallis is free for all ages but tickets must be reserved in advance. Visit www.cosusymphony.org to reserve tickets.
